Thank you for visiting the Hemet Fire/ Department of Life Safety website, a valuable resource for our community. For more than 100 years, the Hemet Fire Department has held the preservation of life, property and the environment in the highest regard. As your Fire Chief, I am responsible to ensure we provide the highest level of response to fires, medical rescues, hazardous materials and other emergencies.

In November of 2022, the Fire Department recently integrated the Code Enforcement and Building and Safety Divisions, thus creating the Hemet Fire/ Department of Life Safety. The Department of Life Safety (DLS) is a comprehensive program involving Building and Safety, Fire Prevention, and Code Compliance. With public safety as the top priority, the DLS is able to educate the public, enforce laws and ordinances as well as inspect properties to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

To contact the Code Compliance Division, call (951) 765-2339.

To contact the Building and Safety Division, call (951) 765-2475.

To contact the Fire Prevention Division, call (951) 765-2470.

Hemet Fire Department is a proud  participant in California's mutual aid response system. We currently have two apparatus from Cal OES available to respond to wildfires throughout the state. The video below shows how the City of Hemet as well as other municipalities support communities all over California.
