The City of Hemet Fire Department will be hosting the California State Fire Explorer Academy from March 30 through April 3, 2026, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. 

The California State Fire Explorer Academy provides valuable hands-on training for Fire Explorers who are pursuing careers in the fire service. Participants will engage in a variety of training evolutions designed to build skills, leadership, and professionalism. 

During this time, the public may notice visible smoke and controlled live fire training in the area. These activities are planned, supervised, and conducted under strict safety guidelines.

Training will take place at the following locations:

•  Hemet Fire Station 4 1035 S. Cawston Avenue Hemet, CA 92543
• Hemet City Yard 3777 Industrial Avenue Hemet, CA 92545

The Hemet Fire Department would like to reassure residents that there is no cause for alarm if smoke is seen near these locations during the scheduled training hours. We appreciate the community’s understanding and support as we help train the next generation of firefighters.
