[ARCHIVED] Young Boy Hit by Car

Child struck by vehicle.

On 09/17/2012 at about 4:22 pm the Hemet Police Dispatch Center received a call of a traffic collision in the 2700 block of W. Devonshire Ave. The reporting party advised that a child had been struck by a vehicle. Police and Fire units responded ‘Code 3’ and arrived within minutes to find a young (approximately four year old) male had been struck by a vehicle.

The boy was immediately transferred to a local landing site and was then transferred to Mercy Air and flown to a local hospital. Witnesses to the collision indicated that the boy had crossed the street several times narrowly avoiding collisions before he was struck. Initial efforts to locate the child’s parents were unsuccessful. At the time of this release the boy’s condition is not known and the investigation is ongoing.
