Robbery Suspect Arrested
On Saturday, October 6, at about 2:30PM, Hemet Police received a report of a robbery that just occurred at the Shell Gas Station at 1704 W Florida Ave. While responding, officers learned the suspect was fleeing the scene in a vehicle that was being followed by a witness.
The witness called Hemet Police Dispatch and advised he was following the suspect at a safe distance. Officers were directed to the suspect’s location where a high risk stop was conducted.
The investigation resulted in Andrew Mendel, 21 years of Hemet, being arrested for burglary and robbery. Mendel was transported to Southwest Jail and held on $25,000 bail.
