On Saturday, at about 8PM, a Hemet Police officer conducted a traffic stop in the 3000 block of W. Florida Avenue. During the stop, a passenger in the vehicle provided a false name to the officer.
Hemet Police Department has several portable fingerprint devices that are linked into Local, State, and Federal fingerprint data bases. The device scans a single finger and immediately returns with information such as name(s), AKA's, address, and any wants or warrants. Upon seeing the device, the subject ran from officers and was pursed on foot.
Officers located the man hiding under a parked car in the 2800 block of W. Florida Avenue. While taking him into custody, officers noticed he appeared to be trying to conceal something. Officers soon saw (in plain sight) a partially visible plastic bindle just south of the man's lower back.
During booking, a more in-depth search was conducted which resulted in officers finding methamphetamine lodged in the crevice of the man's buttocks.
D'nico Hooks, 23 years from Hemet was taken to the hospital to ensure no other drugs had been ingested and was later transported to Riverside County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
