Hemet ROCS Sweep Leads to Arrests
On 11/15/2012 at about 1:30 pm., the Hemet Police Department, the Hemet Fire Department, and the Hemet ROCS taskforce teamed up with the Hemet – San Jacinto Valley Regional Gang Taskforce (GTF), and the Post Release Accountability & Corrections Team (PACT) to conduct a sweep at a Motel in the 2700 block of W. Florida Avenue.
The law enforcement teams conducted probation / parole compliance checks and pedestrian checks, while the ROCS teams and Fire Department inspected the location for potential code and safety violations reported to the City.
During the operation, eight people were arrested: three misdemeanor warrant arrests, two misdemeanor drug paraphernalia arrests, and three felony arrests for weapons possession and drug possession charges. Additionally, numerous code violations were discovered although none of them required evacuation of the Motel or immediate closure. City officials will be following up with the owners of the Motel to ensure the violations are corrected.
This operation was made possible through the sharing of resources between numerous Inland Empire Cities and the County of Riverside.
