On 11/27/12, just before 1:00 AM, Hemet Police Dispatch received a 911 call from a victim stating her vehicle had just been stolen from her carport in the 1400 block of South State Street. Hemet Police Officers responded to the area and soon located the stolen vehicle driving away from the area.
The suspect saw the officers and drove into a mobile home park in an attempt to evade them. Once in the park, the suspect jumped out of the moving car and attempted to flee on foot. The vehicle rolled to a stop and was later returned to the owner.
Hemet Police Officer Dean Benjamin was right behind the suspect and ordered him to the ground. As other officers arrived on scene to assist, the suspect again attempted to flee and fought with the officers. The man was soon taken into custody following the struggle.
After searching the suspect, officers found additional stolen property belonging to the victim.
Arrested was: Adam Eder, 18 years from Hemet. Eder was later transported to jail with charges of Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Burglary Tools, and Resisting Arrest.
