Injury Hit and Run Traffic Collision
On 01/06/2013 at about 9:29 pm, officers from the City of Hemet Police Department responded to a call of a hit and run traffic collision involving three vehicles in the 1100 block of N. State Street. Arriving officers and medical personnel found two of the involved vehicles and began providing medical aid to the injured persons. Two children and one adult were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries which ranged from minor to critical in nature. As the scene was being stabilized, officers from the City of Hemet Police Department and deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department conducted an extensive search of the area for the suspect vehicle but were unable to locate it.
Preliminary investigation revealed that there were three vehicles involved in this collision: Toyota, Ford, and unknown van. The Toyota was driving north in the 1000 block of N. State St and the Ford was driving south in the 1200 block of N. State St. The van (suspect vehicle), drove eastbound from Crow’s Nest St., making a left onto northbound State St. The van struck the back of the Toyota, causing it to lose control and cross into the southbound lanes where it was struck again by the Ford. The Toyota then left the roadway and struck a pole. The van that caused this collision was last seen driving northbound on State St.
The suspect vehicle is described as a green or blue van or minivan. The van may have damage to the front end.
