HEMET ROCS TEAM COMPLETES ANOTHER INSPECTION
On February 27, 2013, at about 1:30 PM, the Hemet ROCS Multi-Disciplinary Team responded to and completed an inspection at 2780 W. Florida Avenue, the California Budget Motel. The ROCS team is comprised of city building inspectors, code enforcement, fire inspectors, and police officers. The location was issued warnings for some minor code violations for electrical and safety hazards, and will have two weeks to complete repairs. One arrest was made at the location for a parole violation and officers issued citations to two subjects for jaywalking in front of the motel.
The city of Hemet Community Development Director, Deanna Elliano said, “The ROCS program is working and it is good to see a local business cooperate and do fairly well during the inspection process.” Code Enforcement and building officials will be back at the location in a few weeks to check on the status of the repairs.
Immediately after the inspection was complete, the police officers assigned to the Hemet ROCS Team left the motel and focused their enforcement efforts on Florida Ave. Officers arrested two subjects for loitering/prostitution, issued 8 vehicle code citations, 1 administrative citation, and towed 4 vehicles.
