VEHICLE THEFT SUSPECT ARRESTED
On 03/24/13 at 11:24 PM, Hemet Police Department dispatch received a call of a vehicle theft that just occurred in the 800 block of E. Menlo Avenue, Hemet, with the vehicle last headed eastbound on Menlo Avenue.
Officer B. Anderson had just arrived to a call for service at 200 N. Yale Street. As he stood at the top of the stairs of the apartment complex he was responding to, he saw a vehicle matching the description of the stolen vehicle in the adjacent apartment complex at 178 N. Yale Street. Officer B. Anderson broadcasted the information and responded to 178 N. Yale Street.
Officer B. Anderson located the vehicle and it was in fact the stolen vehicle with one suspect sitting in the driver's seat. The suspect, Samuel Sala, was taken into custody without incident.
The vehicle was recovered at 11:35 PM, which was within 11 minutes of being reported.
During a search incident to the arrest, Sala was found in possession of methamphetamine, heroin, and burglary tools. Sala also had three felony warrants for his arrest.
Samuel Sala- 26 year old resident of Hemet was later booked into the Riverside County Jail for the following charges:

11377(a) H&S- Possession of Methamphetamine
11350(a) H&S- Possession of Heroin
466 PC- Possession of Burglary Tools
