On 09-28-13, at 9:23pm, while in the area of Olive Tree Lane and San Jacinto Street, Hemet Police Officer Dean Benjamin observed a vehicle strike the curb while moving. When Officer Benjamin got behind the vehicle, the vehicle accelerated away from him and a pursuit was initiated.
The vehicle ran several stop signs, drove on the wrong side of the roadway, and also drove thru a dirt field. The suspect abandoned the vehicle in the area of Whittier and Yale, where a foot pursuit was initiated. Officer Benjamin chased the suspect over several fences and through several yards. The suspect was located hiding on a rooftop in the area of Whittier and Girard. The man was uncooperative and resisted officers. The vehicle he was driving was stolen. The suspect was later transported to Riverside County Jail.

31 year old resident of unincorporated Hemet.
Charges: Probation Violation, Possession of Stolen Vehicle, Felony Pursuit, DUI - Drugs, Possession of Burglary Tools, and Resisting Arrest.
