On 10-10-13, at about 8:15 pm, Hemet Police, Hemet Fire, and AMR Ambulances responded to the area of State Street and Ruby Avenue in reference to a major injury traffic collision. The collision involved 2 vehicles.
One driver was pinned in a Ford Explorer at the scene and had to be extricated by Hemet Fire Department personnel. The driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local trauma center for further treatment. The other driver, in a Chevy pick-up, remained at the scene and was not injured during the collision.
Members of Hemet Police Department's Major Incident Traffic Investigation Team responded and the investigation closed State Street for several hours. The roadway has since been reopened for morning traffic. The traffic bureau will have further information on this collision investigation at a later time.
