[ARCHIVED] Woman Chases Thief from Her Home

Ulloa Hemet Police PD Arrest Burglary Ax Tomahawk

On 11/02/2013 at approximately 8:20am, Hemet Police Dispatch received a call reference a burglary which had just occurred in the 2200 block of W. Acacia Avenue. The reporting party advised she was sleeping in her bedroom when she woke to find someone in her apartment attempting to remove a wrist watch from her wrist. The caller, a "Tomahawk Throwing Champion", quickly armed herself with a throwing ax and chased the suspect from her residence.

Hemet Police Officers responded quickly and began to search the area for the suspects. While checking the area, Hemet Officer Dave Purcell observed a portion of a bicycle tire protruding from a bush about 50 yards away. Officer Purcell found the suspect (Nicholas Ulloa) hiding behind the bush with several bags of miscellaneous property. Officer Purcell took Ulloa into custody without incident and discovered that the bagged property contained several items with the name of the caller on them.

The caller was able to identify the property found with Ulloa as coming from her apartment.

Ulloa was booked at the Hemet Police Department for Burglary in the 1st degree and later transported to Riverside County Jail.
