Robbery suspect arrested after assaulting a woman.
At about 9:50 am. on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, City of Hemet Police Officers responded to a report of a robbery that had just occurred in the parking lot of a bank in the 2400 block of W. Florida Ave. Witnesses advised the responding officers that a suspect approached the victim in the parking lot of the bank, pushed her to the ground, and began violently pulling her hair until she released the bag she was clutching. The suspect fled the scene on foot and a witness chased him north on Kirby St., losing sight of him near the entrance of an apartment complex in the 2700 block of W. Devonshire Ave. The victim was not injured during the assault.
As Hemet Police Officers began searching the apartment complex, one of the residents advised the officers that they had seen the suspect run into one of the apartments near the north east corner of the complex. Officers converged on the apartment and ultimately detained four people inside.
David Jackson, 33 year old Hemet resident was positively identified as the suspect and was arrested on suspicion of robbery. Jackson is being held on $25,000.00 bail.
