The incident and subsequent arrest was handled by the California Highway Patrol, who generally handle most calls at State offices & buildings. Please see message below from the City of Hemet's Deputy City Manager Mark Orme and kindly direct your questions or concerns to the California Highway Patrol at: http://www.chp.ca.gov/
I wish to take the time to inform you of the truth in this matter. The arrest was not made by the Hemet Police Department. The action that took place was between the California Highway Patrol and the individual you reference. We are proud of our Hemet Police Department, as they continue to serve this community with pride and appropriate protective services. This occurrence took place months ago and the City of Hemet played no role in it -- now that the court case is moving forward, the press is reporting on it and it makes Hemet look bad, when we played no part in the activity.
I hope this response helps you to redirect your criticism to the proper authorities who actually participated in this action -- the State of California DMV and State of California Highway Patrol.
Have a great day,
Mark
