ARREST MADE IN ROBBERY CASE
On July, 9, 2014, at 10:23 am, Hemet Police dispatch received a 911 call of a robbery that just occurred at BBVA Compass Bank, located at 4100 E. Florida Ave. As units responded, information was updated and indicated that a bank employee was robbed at knifepoint while in the parking lot. The suspect fled on foot and his description was broadcast to the responding units.
Several officers arrived on scene and started to search for the suspect. The suspect was seen jumping fences and running east through yards in the area of Glenmont Way and Lincoln Ave. He was spotted again jumping a fence from a backyard on Kupfer St. onto Lincoln Ave. The suspect was taken into custody after a brief struggle with officers. All of the stolen property was returned to the bank and the knife was recovered at the scene
The suspect was later transported to Riverside County Jail and is being held on $30,000 bail.
