CITY HALL BURGLARY SUSPECT TAKEN INTO CUSTODY BY K9
At approximately 1:56 AM, Hemet Police Dispatch began receiving an alarm activation from City Hall, 445 E. Florida Ave.
Officers responded to the location and could immediately see an open sliding glass door located on the second story of the west side of the building. While standing outside of the door officers could hear rustling sounds coming from within the building. Officers began giving verbal commands for the suspect to exit the room. There was no response from the suspect so K-9 Jack was deployed at that time.
K-9 Jack located and apprehended the suspect who was later identified as, Shadriss Xavier Tasham WESPI. Once in custody, WESPI was escorted outside of the building to get medical attention and the remainder of the building was cleared. No other suspects were located inside the building.
Shadriss WESPI was booked in county jail on the following charges:
459 PC – Burglary = Bail $35,000
21810 PC – possession of metal knuckles = Bail $5,000
148 (a) (1) PC – Resist or delaying a police officer in his or her duties = Bail $3,500
