Hemet Police Arrest Shots Fired

Arrests Follow Calls of Shots Fired

On Sunday, December 28th just after midnight, the City of Hemet Police Dispatch Center began receiving calls about shots being heard in the 400 block of W. Mayberry Avenue. Numerous witnesses called and were able to provide dispatch with descriptions of the subjects involved and the direction they were heading.

Hemet Police Units converged on the area from multiple directions. The Officers contacted a group of eight subjects walking on Mayberry Avenue, west Gilbert Street and detained them for investigation.

One of the subjects fought with the officers and was arrested after a brief struggle. One of the other subjects was armed with a loaded handgun while a third was a reported runaway juvenile. It was also discovered that several of the subjects were juveniles out past curfew. They were detained and later released to their parents.

Ultimately, the suspect that fought with the officers was arrested for obstructing police officers and was transported to Juvenile hall. The suspect who was armed with the handgun was arrested for numerous weapon related charges and later transported to Riverside County Jail. The runaway juvenile was released to her parents.

Arrested: Jordan Marzette, 20 year old resident of the County portion of Hemet.
Charges: Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Concealed Firearm, Possession of a Loaded Firearm, and Violation of Probation.
Bail: $30,000.00.

The name of the juvenile who fought with the officers is being withheld as required by law.
