On 1/22/15 at approximately 10:25pm, Hemet Police Officers located a stolen Honda Civic as it traveled westbound on Menlo Avenue in Hemet. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle however it failed to yield and a pursuit was initiated. The driver, Abel Chacon, was arrested and taken back to Riverside County Jail after he ultimately pulled over and stopped about a mile later.
Chacon was arrested and transported to Riverside County Jail on Jan 5th of this year by Hemet Police following another pursuit. In that incident, Chacon crashed into a block wall and a light pole after leading officers on a pursuit. http://ca-hemet.civicplus.com/DocumentCenter/View/2822
On 01/23/15 at about 12:30am, Hemet Police Officers conducted a traffic stop near Kirby and 7th Street in the City of San Jacinto. The driver and his passengers fled the scene and a pursuit was initiated. The driver lost control in the 600 block of W. 7th Street and stuck a building. The occupants then fled on foot. Officers located a handgun and several rounds of ammunition before finding two men who were hiding near some farming equipment.
