The Hemet Police Will Be Handing Tickets Out to Reward Good Deeds & Good Behavior.
Hemet Police Officers are issuing tickets (coupons) for a free small Slurpee to reward good deeds and good behavior by youngsters in the community. The Hemet Police Department has partnered with 7-ELEVEN stores to promote the program Operation Chill. Operation Chill is an opportunity for police officers to interact with youngsters in the community on a positive note.
Hemet Police Officers will be out during these hot summer months promoting good behavior and good deeds by issuing these coupons to youngsters in the community. They may be rewarded for many different reasons, such as, wearing a bicycle helmet, picking up trash, participating in community activities, complying with basic pedestrian laws and many other good deeds.
These tickets (coupons) will allow for positive exchanges between kids and officers, which is extremely important in building and strengthening trust amongst youth in the community.
