East End Burglar Caught in the Act
On 08/20/2012 at about 0247 hours, the Hemet Police Dispatch Center received an alarm activation from a bank in the 1000 block of E. Florida Ave. Officers were already in the area due to at least one other burglary in the area and were able to arrive on scene within two minutes of receiving the call. Upon arrival, the officers found the front door pried open and located a suspect inside the teller area. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. Further search of the bank revealed that most of the drawers had been pried open and ransacked. A search of the suspect, incident to arrest, revealed that he was in possession of keys to a vehicle that had been stolen earlier in the evening. Officers searched the area and located the stolen truck a block away from the bank.
Arrested:
Eugene Pamilton, 20 years old, Hemet resident. The suspect was later transported to the Riverside County Jail for four counts of burglary and one count of auto theft.
